Notes:
This is my all-time favorite show. "Badlands" to open was spectacular. Perhaps the most exciting moment in the entire show was during the extended guitar introduction to "Prove It All Night." The tying together of "Racing In the Streets" and "Thunder Road" with the story about driving around in the Utah desert was superb. Bruce describes a sign written in "blood red paint" that says, "This is the land of peace, love, justice, and no mercy--and the sign said--Thunder Road." The most memorable moment of the show--and my favorite Springsteen moment of all time is when Bruce introduces the "Sad Eyes" "I remember you" insert into "Backstreets." This is the most emotional performance I have ever witnessed--and "Backstreets" is transformed into the ultimate breakup/betrayal song. "Look into my face," Springsteen screams. "You lied." The concert featured "The Promise" one of my favorites to this day and a lively version of "Rosalita." A most memorable show; Bruce, king of the east coast, finally staked his claim on L.A. Some sources states 10th avenue in place of 'Because the Night'

Bruce joined The Old Dog Band and they were joined by Gary Busey (who was appearing in the Buddy Holly Story, which Bruce had mentioned seeing the night before at the Forum). Gary Busey's brother was one of the members of the Old Dog Band, and they had just arrived from Oklahoma that week. Partial setlist. A fan present writes "the concert was moved from the 10,000 seat Convention Center to the 1,700 seat theater next door. We didn't learn that until we went to the door of the big hall and saw a hand-written sign telling us to go next door. What a treat! I was in the 3rd row center and it was like having a concert in my living room! - Concert-goers had to exchange their tickets so there was a delay in starting the show. People were starting to get impatient and began the rhythmic hand clapping and foot stomping to indicate their impatience. The MC made one announcement, but it didn't let up. All of a sudden from stage left out comes Bruce who said something like the following, "O.K. you guys! Hang on for a little longer until we get everyone in. We have a long show ahead of us tonight!" Everyone went crazy and indeed, the show soon began with a "no-holds-barred" version of Badlands!".

This concert was actually held at The Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans. It started about 40 minutes late because the stage motor burned out and they couldn't move the stage back so some people didn't have seats. They were offered their money back but urged to stay. Bruce came out an apologized for the delay and said he & the band would try to make up for it with the show. THEY DID! To this day, still the best I ever saw.
