LIVE AT THE HAMMERSMITH ODEON
Please note: the information
published on this page are gathered from the internet, books, or from collectors
writing me.
If you think the details I'm giving here are not correct, please share your thoughts
with me, using the e-mail address contrib@brucespringsteen.it
and correct any error I did, helping to build up a great reference site for all
the bruce collectors. If you have better photos than the ones I
collected about the item in question, you can send them in jpg format, ideal
size is 200 - 300K, I'll manage to cut and compose them.
Don't ask for more info
about the items, because I just publish what I get from collectors, I have no
items to check directly. Many photos come from the Brucebase
vinyl vault and/or Brucebase
studio boot, which are precious sources of information that you should
always use to integrate mine. Don't ask for information about buying or
exchanging the items described in this pages, the information you can find here
are for referential purpose only and you would get no response.
Notes:
Orange (or maybe other colours) insert with Bruce and some monkeys on cartoon sleeve.
Various editions exist:
A) Ruthless Rhymes (dog and gun) labels. Orange/Blue/Yellow insert. Matrix BS 1975
B) Slipped disc (skeleton) labels. Various colours for insert. Matrix is BS 1975
C) Blue labels. Deep Yellow/Orange. Matrix BS 1975
D) Raring Records label. Matrix BS 1975.
Fonts reporting matrix SX TT 79 for edition (B) are probably disguised by the label. The label is BS 1975 for all the 4 editions.
It is not clear if (C) is an original or a repress. My thinking is that is very improbable Slipped and RR printed the same record, so these edition may be attractive (and very limited) repress of release (C), or (C) may be an advance press of (A). But a small difference exists between the insert of (C) and (D) respect to (A) and (B), apart from the color. In (C) and (D), there are some small 'shadows' between the legs of the third monkey and between the second monkey and the oval border of the photo. These shadows, which may indicate a photocopy, and thus a repress, are not present on (A) and (B). I'd be glad to know readers' opinions on this matter!!
It's not finished: recently I've seen a previously unknown version with a wrap around insert reprising the "standard" insert with a Bruce-Landau meeting story on the added (retro) part.
The "standard" part of the insert has some differences with the classic version : a © symbol after the word "Odeon", the missing of the BS 1975 vertical writing on the right side, and the fact that the artwork seem somehow redesigned, thus being identical to the other one.
Labels are TMOQ. Matrix is still "BS 1975"
Everything apart from the full insert makes me think about a further (but very limited) repress….
Thanks to Roby for some info.
