Notes:
From a fan kind recollection we know that there were two or three warm up bands and that they were Buzzy Linhart, It's a Beautiful Day, and Estes(?).
From the stage banter Vinnie Lopez appeared to be intoxicated.
Odd occurence - A rainbow overhead during the show with no sign of rain ( Approval from on high?), actually it was partly cloudy all afternoon. Maybe 50 people attended the show, late afternoon. Many thanks to Paul
ONE afternoon outdoor show, with Springsteen headlining. Although primarily intended as a social event for students returning from summer vacation, this was a free concert that was open to the general public and sponsored by the University’s Penn Program Council. Held on the lawn of the “Flagstaff Hill” section of Schenley Park, next to the Botanical Gardens.

Notes:
Joseph Bronowich, the Program Manager at The Jabberwocky during this period, has confirmed that this show as well as following two nights were cancelled. Apparently Bruce was stuck in the studio with final mixing of the "Wild & Innocent" LP. The legendary Jabberwocky Club closed down in 1985

CANCELLED show, never rescheduled. This concert was slated as a ONE show, double billing, with Springsteen opening for headliner THE ADVENTURES OF ROGER MCGUINN (a short-lived band formed by McGuinn following the breakup of The Byrds). Springsteen cancelled first (due to studio commitments for the 2nd album) and shortly thereafter McGuinn also cancelled.

05 The 'E' street shuffle
Notes:
ONE show, with Springsteen the sole act on the bill. This was the first night back on tour after the 3-week hiatus required to complete the Wild & Innocent LP. This show also marked the live debut of “The E Street Shuffle”, as well as the first-ever guest slot in the lineup by Albee (“Albany Al”) Tellone on baritone sax. Tellone, who had been a member of Bruce’s band during the 1971 Friendly Enemies-Dr Zoom period, had been working as the Greetings Tour sound manager since Nov 1972. Tellone would end making stage appearances in the band (but only during gigs where “The E Street Shuffle” was played) from this night up until mid-December 1973, when Albee left the tour to start his own band.

Notes:
ONE show, with Springsteen the lone act on the bill. Last minute difficulties with the College-supplied grand piano caused a delay to the start of the concert, as a specialist instrument tuner had to be summoned to the auditorium to rectify the problem.
Loren testify to me:
"Bruce was the warm up band to Jim Stafford (Spiders and Snakes): small audience in the gym. very small stage the E Street band was packed in. Little to no movement. Started the show with New York City Serenade and blew away the crowd for the next 90 minutes. Jim Stafford came on stage apologized for attempting to follow such a great act. Played his one song to full fill his contract. Praised Bruce and his band and left the stage. We all knew we had seen something new and exciting."

Notes:
One show, with Bruce and the band the only act on the bill. Although an advertisement (see below) says the concert was scheduled for the University's Gymnasium, further information indicates the concert was ultimately relocated to the smaller, 500-seat Student Union Ballroom. There was free admission if you were a student at Stony Brook, although Bruce and the band were paid. Interestingly it is reported that Bruce had one of his guitars stolen at this gig.
